What kind of writing pays best? This was a question posed to me by one of our readers, Dennis, in Ohio.
My answer: Ransom notes! OK, let’s get serious. This is a complex question Dennis - are you hoping to get big advances from publishers for your work? Are you expecting to self-publish your work and sell it?
Were you asking on the basis of how many pennies, or dollars will you be paid per word?
Do you write articles, books, technical manuals, fiction, non-fiction, music, movie scripts, TV shows, speeches, jokes, sales letters, newsletters, church bulletins, copy for web sites, or greeting cards?
There are many markets that pay for content, and even more that don’t.
When you can get very focused on your purpose and market, the answer to this question will become clear to you.
